General information

Registration desk

We will have no registration desk per se. But we will have a people welcoming you in front of the Lilla Hörsalen (see map) where the opening keynote will take place. If you need an official confirmation of your participation at the conference please email me at angela.kolling@gu.se


Each conference participant will be set up with a guest account with an individual account name and password valid for the duration of the conference. For any questions please contact Annika Andersson (annika.anderson@sprak.gu.se)

Abstract book

The abstract book will be available online as downloadable PDF file at

Paper sessions

Session duration is 60 or 90 minutes with either two or three papers. The time reserved for one paper presentation is 20 minutes. Presentation of individual papers is followed by discussion and Q&A. The session chair will be helping presenters to keep time.

Technical assistance

We will have a number of tech-savvy people in the room but the digital environment might be somewhat PC-centric. If you are bringing your own computer/Mac, we encourage you to bring a USB stick with your material and your own adapter, or please let us know well in advance if you need an adapter. You can also e-mail your (neatly packaged) presentation to: angela.kolling@gu.se ( please cc malin.podlevskikh.carlstrom@sprak.gu.se )

The Centre for European Research at Gothenburg University (CERGU) has a Twitter feed (https://twitter.com/cergu_tweets) where we will post some updates about the conference.


The lunch and coffees will be served at the 8th floor near the venue for the paper sessions.

Social program

Monday: Pre-Conference Poetry Performance
At 11:30 Selina Tusitala Marsh will perform her poetry at the Artisten Foyer.
Monday: Conference Warming
Wine and snacks after the opening keynote at the LIR staff room, in the main Humanisten building (main entrance level floor), beginning at 19:00
Tuesday: Conference Dinner
The conference dinner will be at Berzelius (see map) at 19:00.

Other information


Smoking is prohibited indoors. There are smoking areas outside the venue at the main entrance of Humanisten and the Sprakskrapan.

Snacks and beverages

You can buy snacks and beverages at the Café Näckrosen near the main entrance of Humanisten. There are also a number of cafés, kiosques and lunch bars near the Korsvägen tram station and its adjacent streets.

Tourist Information

Public Transport

Tickets can be bought at specific selling points and are valid for bus, tram and ferry services. You can buy tickets also on trams at automatons paying with coins or credit cards. Tickets cannot be bought on the busses. For more information see https://www.vasttrafik.se/


The nearest ATM is at Korsvägen tram station and the Svenska Mässan buildings.

Cafés and Restaurants

  • Tabla, Världskulturmuseét, Södra vägen, neråt från Humanisten och över gatan.
  • Locanda/La Sultana, Eklandagatan 8, neråt från Humanisten (de kommer att byta namn), vin och öl
  • Cyrano, Södra vägen 69, neråt från Humanisten, sväng till höger mellan husen och så ligger restaurangen på vänster hand
  • Mari Sushi, Södra vägen 69, samma väg som Cyrano, fast man går lite längre åt vänster mor Korsvägen
  • Restauran Eat, Södra Vägen 77
  • Sushi Wong, Eklandagatan 33, samma väg som Cyrano, fast man går till höger.
