Linguistic Structures

This research area gathers PhD students, teaching staff and researchers with a focus on linguistics and a research interest in linguistic structures. Linguistic structures refer to grammar in a broad sense, i.e. phonology, lexicology and morphosyntax. The research area benefits from the Department’s collective language expertise and is home to research projects that deal with European, Asian and African languages, including endangered and less explored languages.

Area head: Evie Coussé

Seminar coordinator: Laura Downing

Grammar Seminar Series

Our researchers give presentations at our grammar seminars on a regular basis. The Grammar Seminar Series is a Department-wide initiative that also involves the Department of Swedish. We work actively to invite international guests to lecture at the seminars.
