About exams

The Exams Office is open
Tuesday–Thursday 10.30 am – 12 noon

Due to the current situation with preventing Covid-19 from spreading, we are only available via email and phone, no visits.
As soon as this changes, we will update the information.

Registration for Exams at the Department of Languages and Literatures

  • Note: Exam registration is required for all students.
  • You can register via the Student Portal and Ladok online
  • In order to register for an exam, you have to be registered for the respective course in Ladok.
  • Exam registrations are due 10 days in advance of the exam.
  • You may register for exams from the first day of the semester. Registration for retakes opens at the time of the regular exam.
  • If you have not registered for an exam, you may still be able to take it if there are vacant seats and an exam copy is available (this opportunity is not available for computer-based exams).
  • You must arrive at the examination hall well in advance of the start time. It is not possible to enter an examination hall after the exam start time. If you arrive late to an examination hall, you may not take the exam on that occasion.
  • Computer-based exams require extra preparation time. Thus, you must arrive no later than 30 minutes in advance. This rule also applies if you have requested to borrow a computer.

Registration for retakes

If you fail to complete a course due to a missing or too low examination score, there are ways to solve the problem. Read more about retakes here (in Swedish).

Examination at another location

The applicant is responsible for finding a place for examination (university/university college, embassy/consulate, learning centre/school, Swedish school/Swedish church abroad with access to a computer with stable internet connection) and an invigilator connected to the place of examination. The applicant must also pay any expenses in connection with this.

When all the arrangements are done you apply for an exam off-campus via our web form below. The application must be submitted no later than two weeks before the exam date.

Return of exams

Ensure that your exam score is correct BEFORE you pick up your exam. If something is clearly incorrect, you may submit a regrading request. In such case, instead ask for a copy of the exam. If you have already picked up the exam, you may not submit a regrading request.

Exams can be picked up as soon as the grade has been registered in Ladok. We save exams for two years after the exam date.

All exams can be picked up at the Exams Office.

In order to have an exam sent to you by post, send a self-addressed stamped envelope (indicate subject and examination date) to:
