Project

The title of my project is The Emergence of Modern Childhood in the Literature of James Joyce and my investigation is theoretically framed through the fields of critical Children and Childhood Studies and Irish Cultural Studies. The focus of my project is to map the changing depiction of children and childhood in Joyce's texts from Dubliners to Ulysses, and to explore the implications of the shifting perception of children and childhood in Joyce's texts for interpreting his depiction of Dublin.
