During 2000, the ALLEX project was transformed into a lexicographical institute called ALRI (African Languages Research Institute), with main location at the University of Harare. The objective of ALRI is to publish dictionaries for the languages of Zimbabwe. A large Shona dictionary, Duramazwi RechiShona (now also web-searchable), and a monolingual Ndebele dictionary have already been published.
The corpora can be viewed at LexiLogik AB (formerly GU Språk & Data AB), a company now disbanded -- see under "Demonstrations".
Researchers in African linguistics and computational linguistics from the universities of Göteborg and Oslo are actively participating in the project. Daniel Ridings and Bo Ralph are currently representing Göteborg University.
ALRI is supported by Sida and the University.
